Hi, Debbie. What you’re describing as the ‘rubber band dynamic’ was a theory (I believe) first proposed by John Gray — the clever ‘Mars and Venus’ pop psychologist. Specifically, it was developed to explain male emotional behavioural tempo. ‘Women are like waves; they ebb and flow; men are like rubber bands; they distance until they snap back.’ That sort of thing.

I’m not a bit surprised it’s now being applied to what I honestly don’t believe is a valid ‘stage’ of TF dynamic — rather evidence of an association that’s either not ready to trigger yet (in which case it should be dropped like a hot potato) or whose contracts have been resolved, and should be released for that reason.

Either way, the best advice becomes ‘move on, honey!’ And that I can’t help but support wholeheartedly. ??

Nice website, BTW. I like the design a lot.
