Love’s Stolen Moments

Debbie DuBoisPoetry, Sacred UnionLeave a Comment

An inspired poem. A vision. A dream. A moment from another life? It is real and true somewhere in time. Sacred Union.

Gaze across the crowded room
Eyes of intense blue meet mine
Together, never apart
We are strangers only here

Slowly we make our way
Through throngs gathered
Celebrating, pulling at sleeves
Light kisses on cheeks

Our eyes do not stray
Glances of intensity
As we smile and move
Gracefully, nonchalantly

As you come nearer
I see your hungry eyes
Heat rises in my heart
Expansion unparalleled

I look away as my heart skips
Moving towards the doorway
The garden’s secrets to reveal
A breath on my neck in moonlight

Arms gently encircle my waist
Swooped up in one motion
Carried away from the noise
To a large oak tree

The mask is removed
No stranger are you to me
Lovely smile on your lips
Which kiss me in splendor’s greeting

Lovers stolen moments for two
Breathless, only a whispered
“I love you now and always”
Hearts forever collide
